extends java.lang.Object

This simple example shows how JDBC is used to execute DDL and DML. It assumes the table empdemo exists. This table is created in the simplesql example.

This example is run on the command line and is output to System.out.

Build the Example

1. In the %SAMPLES_HOME%\examples.properties file, specify a value for the following properties:
   • DBSERVER - The name of your Oracle server.
   • USER - The user name to use to connect to the database and create tables.
   • PASSWORD - The password to use when connecting to the database.

   The ant scripts for building and running the example use properties set in this file.

2. Open a new command shell.

3. Set up this development shell as described in Setting up Your Environment for Building and Running the Examples.
   • Update your PATH to include the path to the directory for the WebLogic shared library (native interface) for oci817_8 and to the directory for libraries for the Oracle client. For example:

     %WL_HOME%\server\bin\oci817_8;%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%PATH%

     where %WL_HOME% is where you installed the WebLogic software.

   For complete information, see Setting Up the Environment for Using WebLogic jDriver for Oracle in Installing and Using WebLogic jDriver for Oracle. The following sections contain instructions for specific platforms:

   • Windows NT
   • Solaris
   • HP

4. Compile the example by executing the following command:

     prompt> ant

   Note: This script builds all of the examples in the oracle directory.

Run the Example

• Execute the following command in your development shell:

    prompt> ant records
